"Sweden is a country dear to my heart. I have been fortunate enough to spend much of of my working life here, sharing in the natural energy of a country where art and nature co-exist in harmony. When I was asked to become the artistic director of Musica Vitae I saw an opportunity to share in the vision of  these most wonderfully respected musicians. Musica Vitae is unique in that it is fortunate enough to be making great music in the heart of its community whilst maintaining an international reputation. The members of the orchestra communicated a positive ambition to me which seemed clearly supported by Staffan Langemark's forward thinking stewardship. This energy is reinforced by the clear strategies of Martin Martinsson and the team at Musik I Syd. Consequently I feel engaged, inspired and empowered to forge cooperative relationships in Vaxjo and the Oresund region and to further develop Musica Vitae's international reach and reputation. Musica Vitae is about a meeting of musicians and communities on many different levels. A very good meeting which I shall be proud to lead."

It is a wonderful thing to share a sense of purpose with you as our audience and supporters for our exciting programme this season. We have now built a core of energy to take us towards our 30th anniversary season and with your help and enthusiasm the reach of Musica Vitae can be enjoyed by many people both in the south of Sweden and indeed in the country and internationally. I think we should all feel proud of the support provided by our many stakeholders both artistic and administrative which allows us to deliver what I think you will agree is a constantly developing and groundbreaking Chamber Orchestra of the highest standard. I am so thrilled that Swedish Radio will now be broadcasting many of our concerts and this season we are presenting a wonderful mix of great Swedish talent with works inspired by American composers. Great artists such as Fredrik Malmberg and his wonderful choir to Ulf Wallin, Emil Jonason ,Johannes Gustavsson, Robert Bonfiglio – the Paganini of the Harmonica... with young star Jakob Koranyi and James Crabb and the great Swedish soprano Lisa Larsson who all frame a variety of styles and concerts which attempt to bring a fresh and vital spirit into the concert hall . We are thrilled to be working with Växjö and the community here as our home and hope that you will experience Musica Vitae as your home wherever you are for the live concert experience over the coming season.

We look forward to welcoming you!
